1. 1. 1. Parties

   This RV Rental Agreement (the "Agreement") is made effective as of [EFFECTIVE DATE] between [OWNER NAME], located at [OWNER ADDRESS] (the "Owner"), and [RENTER NAME], located at [RENTER ADDRESS] (the "Renter"). The Renter driver license number is [LICENSE NUMBER], issued by [ISSUING STATE], expiring [LICENSE EXPIRATION], and the Renter date of birth is [DATE OF BIRTH]. The emergency contact for the Renter is [EMERGENCY CONTACT NAME AND PHONE], and the Owner may be reached during the Rental Period at [OWNER PHONE AND EMAIL]. Each Party represents that the person signing below is authorized to do so and that all information provided about identity, driving record, and insurance is accurate.

2. 2. 2. Recreational Vehicle

   The Owner rents to the Renter the following recreational vehicle (the "RV"): [YEAR, MAKE, MODEL], class [CLASS A / B / C / TRAVEL TRAILER / FIFTH WHEEL], length [LENGTH] feet, height [HEIGHT] feet [HEIGHT INCHES] inches, VIN [VIN], license plate [PLATE NUMBER AND STATE], sleeping [SLEEPS] persons. The odometer reading at the start of the Rental Period is [START ODOMETER] miles, the generator hour meter reads [START GENERATOR HOURS], the fuel level is [START FUEL LEVEL], and the propane level is [START PROPANE LEVEL]. Included equipment is: [EQUIPMENT LIST, e.g., leveling blocks, wheel chocks, sewer hose and fittings, potable water hose, surge protector and power adapters, kitchen kit, linens, folding chairs, outdoor mat, tire pressure gauge]. Title remains with the Owner and this is a rental only, not a lease or a sale.

3. 3. 3. Rental Period, Departure, and Return

   The Rental Period begins on [START DATE AND TIME] and ends on [RETURN DATE AND TIME], when the Renter will return the RV to [RETURN LOCATION] with all equipment, keys, and documents. Departure orientation takes approximately [ORIENTATION DURATION] and must be completed before departure. On return the RV must be [RETURN CONDITION REQUIREMENTS, e.g., fueled to the starting level, with black and gray tanks emptied, refrigerator emptied, interior swept and wiped, and trash removed]. Rental charges accrue until the RV is returned and inspected. Late returns are charged [LATE RETURN FEE] per hour up to a maximum of one additional day at the daily rate, plus any documented loss from a missed subsequent booking. Extensions must be requested at least [EXTENSION NOTICE, e.g., 24 hours] before the scheduled return and are effective only when confirmed by the Owner in writing.

4. 4. 4. Rates, Fees, Deposit, and Payment

   The Renter will pay [NIGHTLY RATE] per night with a minimum of [MINIMUM NIGHTS] nights, plus applicable taxes, a preparation and sanitation fee of [PREP FEE], an insurance or protection charge of [PROTECTION FEE] where applicable, and any optional add-ons selected. A non-refundable reservation deposit of [RESERVATION DEPOSIT] is due at booking and is credited against the total, with the balance due [BALANCE DUE TIMING, e.g., 14 days before departure]. A refundable security deposit of [SECURITY DEPOSIT] is due before departure or held on the payment method on file, and may be applied to unpaid charges, excess mileage and generator hours, fuel and propane, dumping and cleaning fees, tolls and citations, missing equipment, and damage repair. The unused balance is returned within [DEPOSIT RETURN PERIOD, e.g., 14 days] after return and inspection with a written itemization. The Renter authorizes the Owner to charge the payment method on file for all amounts arising under this Agreement.

5. 5. 5. Driver Eligibility and Authorized Drivers

   The RV may be driven only by the Renter and by these additional drivers: [ADDITIONAL DRIVER NAMES AND LICENSE NUMBERS]. Every driver must be at least [MINIMUM DRIVER AGE] years old, must hold a valid unrestricted driver license, must have at least [MINIMUM DRIVING EXPERIENCE, e.g., five years] of licensed driving experience, and must have no more than [MAXIMUM VIOLATIONS] moving violations and no at-fault major accident or impaired driving conviction in the last [LOOKBACK PERIOD, e.g., five years]. The Renter authorizes the Owner to obtain a driving record check before departure. Where the length or weight of the RV requires a special or non-commercial class license in the state of the driver, the Renter is responsible for holding it. No driver may operate the RV while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, or any other substance. Allowing an unauthorized person to drive is a material breach that voids all protection and makes the Renter responsible for all resulting loss.

6. 6. 6. Mileage, Generator Hours, and Fuel

   The rental includes [INCLUDED MILEAGE, e.g., 100 miles per night], and additional miles are charged at [EXCESS MILEAGE RATE] per mile. The rental includes [INCLUDED GENERATOR HOURS, e.g., 3 hours per night], and additional generator hours are charged at [GENERATOR RATE] per hour based on the hour meter reading. The RV must be returned with the same fuel and propane levels recorded at departure, and shortfalls are charged at [FUEL RATE] per gallon and [PROPANE RATE] per gallon plus a service fee of [REFUELING FEE]. The Renter is responsible for using the correct fuel grade, and misfueling, including diesel exhaust fluid errors, is the responsibility of the Renter including towing and repair. The Renter will not run the generator while sleeping without a functioning carbon monoxide detector, will not refuel with the propane system on, and will observe quiet hours for generator use at every campground.

7. 7. 7. Permitted Use, Geographic Limits, and Road Restrictions

   The RV may be used only for personal recreational travel and lodging by the Renter and the named occupants, up to a maximum of [MAXIMUM OCCUPANTS] persons. The RV may be driven within [GEOGRAPHIC LIMIT, e.g., the continental United States] and may not be taken into Mexico, off the continental United States, or into [EXCLUDED AREAS, e.g., Death Valley in summer, unpaved forest service roads, Mexico] without prior written consent of the Owner. The RV may be driven only on paved, maintained roads and improved campground surfaces, and not on unmaintained dirt roads, beaches, or ferry crossings without written consent. The Renter is responsible for knowing the height, length, and weight of the RV and for avoiding low clearances, weight-restricted bridges, and length-restricted campgrounds and mountain roads. The Renter will not exceed [MAXIMUM SPEED] miles per hour regardless of the posted limit and will not drive more than [DAILY DRIVING LIMIT] hours in a day without rest.

8. 8. 8. Prohibited Uses

   The Renter will not: sublease, rent, lend, or list the RV on any rental platform; use the RV for commercial purposes, transport of goods for hire, ridesharing, or as a residence beyond the Rental Period; smoke or vape anywhere inside the RV, which triggers a remediation fee of [SMOKING FEE]; permit pets except as authorized in Section 12; tow any vehicle or trailer except as expressly approved in writing and within the rated capacity; operate any appliance, slide-out, or awning contrary to the operating instructions; drive with the slide-outs extended, the awning open, the steps down, the antenna raised, or any bay door unlatched; carry more occupants than there are seat belts while in motion; attend any event where the RV will be used for tailgating with alcohol service, unless approved in writing; or use the RV in the commission of any crime. Any prohibited use is a material breach that terminates permission to possess the RV and makes the Renter responsible for all resulting loss.

9. 9. 9. Departure Walkthrough and Condition Report

   Before departure the Parties will complete and sign the RV Condition Report attached as Exhibit A, recording odometer, generator hours, fuel and propane levels, tank levels, tire condition and pressure, exterior condition including roof, sidewalls, awning fabric, slide-out seals, and every existing scratch, dent, and delamination, together with interior condition, upholstery, appliances, and the full equipment inventory, all supported by dated photographs. The Owner will demonstrate operation of the slide-outs, awning, leveling system, generator, water pump, water heater, furnace, air conditioning, refrigerator, propane system, dump valves, and shore power connection, and the Renter will confirm in writing that the orientation was completed and understood. On return the Parties will repeat the inspection using the same report. Damage not recorded before departure is presumed to have occurred during the Rental Period, and the Owner will provide photographs and an itemized damage statement within [RETURN INSPECTION NOTICE, e.g., three business days].

10. 10. 10. Tanks, Utilities, and Appliance Care

    The Renter is responsible for proper use of the water, waste, and electrical systems, including using only RV-safe toilet paper and approved tank treatments, keeping the black tank valve closed until the tank is at least two-thirds full, dumping only at approved dump stations, and using the supplied surge protector on every shore power connection. The RV must be returned with the black and gray tanks emptied and the fresh water tank [FRESH TANK RETURN CONDITION, e.g., empty]. Tanks returned full are charged a dumping fee of [DUMP FEE], and a tank that has been damaged by improper materials or by freezing is charged at repair cost. The Renter will not use household chemicals, drain cleaners, or wipes in any drain, will not leave the water heater on empty, will winterize or protect the plumbing if temperatures below freezing are forecast, and will retract the awning whenever leaving the RV unattended or when wind exceeds [AWNING WIND LIMIT, e.g., 20 miles per hour].

11. 11. 11. Insurance and Roadside Assistance

    The Renter will maintain automobile liability insurance covering the Renter and every authorized driver for operation of a motorhome, with limits of at least [LIABILITY LIMITS], or will purchase the rental protection offered by the Owner at [PROTECTION FEE] per day, and will provide proof of coverage before departure. Coverage carried by the Renter is primary for all liability and physical damage during the Rental Period, and any coverage of the Owner is excess. The Renter is responsible for the deductible on any policy responding to a loss, up to [DEDUCTIBLE AMOUNT]. Roadside assistance is [ROADSIDE TERMS, e.g., included through the Owner policy for mechanical breakdown], and service calls caused by lockouts, dead house batteries, running out of fuel or propane, flat tires from road hazards, or getting stuck off pavement are charged to the Renter at [SERVICE CALL FEE] plus actual costs. Personal belongings of the Renter are not insured by the Owner.

12. 12. 12. Pets, Smoking, Occupants, and Campground Conduct

    Pets are [PET POLICY, e.g., permitted with prior written approval and a non-refundable pet fee of PET FEE / not permitted]. Where permitted, the Renter will keep the pet leashed outside, will not leave an animal unattended in the RV without climate control and a temperature monitor, and is responsible for all damage, odor remediation, and flea treatment caused by the animal. Smoking, vaping, cannabis use, candles, incense, and open flames are prohibited inside the RV and under the awning, and any violation triggers a remediation fee of [SMOKING FEE] plus the actual cost of ozone treatment and upholstery cleaning. The Renter will observe all campground rules including quiet hours, generator hours, speed limits, and pet policies, and is responsible for any fine or eviction cost. The Renter will not exceed the stated occupancy or host events at the RV site, and remains responsible for the conduct of every occupant and guest.

13. 13. 13. Breakdown, Accidents, and Interruption of Trip

    In the event of a mechanical failure, accident, theft, or fire, the Renter will move to a safe location, call emergency services if anyone is injured, obtain a police report where applicable, photograph the scene and damage, and notify the Owner at [OWNER EMERGENCY PHONE] within [ACCIDENT NOTICE PERIOD, e.g., 2 hours] or as soon as safely practical. The Renter will not authorize any repair above [REPAIR APPROVAL THRESHOLD] or accept any tow without approval of the Owner except where necessary for safety. Mechanical failure not caused by misuse is the responsibility of the Owner, and rental charges are suspended for each full day the RV is unusable through no fault of the Renter, with a pro-rated refund as the sole remedy. The Owner is not responsible for alternative lodging, transportation, missed reservations, or trip cancellation costs, and the Renter is encouraged to purchase travel insurance. Damage caused by the Renter does not suspend rental charges.

14. 14. 14. Damage, Loss, Theft, and Cleaning Charges

    The Renter assumes all risk of physical damage to and loss of the RV during the Rental Period, regardless of fault, subject only to insurance proceeds actually received by the Owner and to any protection product purchased under Section 11. Damage is charged at actual repair cost plus loss of rental revenue at the nightly rate for the reasonable repair period, not to exceed [LOSS OF USE CAP, e.g., 21 days]. The following are the responsibility of the Renter in all cases and are typically excluded from any protection product: roof and overhead damage from low clearances, awning damage from wind or improper retraction, slide-out damage from obstruction or driving while extended, tire damage from road hazards or under-inflation, interior water damage from open windows or vents, freeze damage to plumbing, and damage caused by an unauthorized driver or a prohibited use. Cleaning beyond normal use is charged at [EXCESS CLEANING FEE]. Normal wear from ordinary use is not chargeable damage.

15. 15. 15. Tolls, Citations, Default, and Repossession

    The Renter is responsible for all tolls, parking charges, camera citations, moving violations, and fines incurred during the Rental Period, including those received after return, plus an administrative processing fee of [CITATION ADMIN FEE] per item, and the Owner may identify the Renter to the issuing authority. The Renter is in default if it fails to return the RV on time, fails to pay any amount when due, provides false information, permits an unauthorized driver, or breaches any use restriction. On default the Owner may terminate this Agreement, declare all amounts immediately due, and, to the extent permitted by applicable law and without breach of the peace, retake possession of the RV wherever it is found using any installed telematics device to locate it, with all recovery costs charged to the Renter. An RV not returned within [CONVERSION PERIOD, e.g., 72 hours] after written demand may be reported to law enforcement as unlawfully retained. Personal property left in the RV will be held for [PROPERTY HOLD PERIOD, e.g., 30 days] before disposal.

16. 16. 16. Indemnification, Limitation of Liability, Governing Law, and Signatures

    The Renter accepts the RV in its present condition subject to the Condition Report, assumes the risks of RV travel and camping, and will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Owner from all claims, damages, injuries, fines, and reasonable attorney fees arising from the operation, occupancy, or use of the RV during the Rental Period, except to the extent caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Owner. Neither Party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lodging, transportation, or lost vacation costs. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of [GOVERNING STATE], with venue in [VENUE COUNTY AND STATE] and reasonable attorney fees to the prevailing Party, and it is the entire agreement of the Parties, amendable only in a signed writing.
